Dyanna Daniels
Owner, Artistic Director
Dyanna Daniels began her dance training in 2003 through Western Illinois University’s dance department and the Gwendolyn Brooks Cultural Dance Troupe. Her forte is Urban and Hip Hop movement but she has also trained in several other genres including African, Jazz, Ballroom, Spiritual, and Contemporary. Dyanna co-founded DLD with Arthur J. Daniels in 2004. She is the Artistic Director and current member of DLD Dance Company. Dyanna opened DLD Dance Center in 2011 offering classes in various dance genres for dancers ages 3 to Adult along with scholarships for children in the community who otherwise would not have the opportunity to dance. As Performance and Choreography Director of the DLD sponsored Flash Mob Dancers Group of Chicagoland, her work appeared on ABC’s Extreme Makeover Weight Loss Edition in July of 2013. Her choreography has also been featured at Elgin Ties Dance Festival, Freespace Dance, Dance Chicago, Western Illinois University, College of DuPage, MotorCity Casino-Hotel, Hyatt Regency McCormick Place, Chicago Auto Show, Going Dutch, Noumenon Dance Ensemble’s New Moves, and Navy Pier. Although her work is primarily rooted in Urban and Hip Hop culture, she enjoys interfusing Hip Hop with other dance genres to create an eclectic performance experience. Instilling the foundations, culture, and freedom in Urban and Hip Hop movement is essential for her work and pedagogy. She also aims to offer a multitude of knowledge to her students with her experiences in the business, performance, choreographic, and commercial aspect of the dance industry. She is currently pursuing her MFA in Choreography at Jacksonville University as she continues to develop as an artist. Dyanna directs our competitive Hip Hop company and choreographs for various Hip Hop and Jazz student companies.

Tony Wilder
Hip Hop, Boys Hip Hop
Tony Wilder began dancing at a young age, inspired by Michael Jackson. He has taken class from Ian Eastwood, Kyle Hanagami, Bam Martin, Brian Puspos, Lando Wilkins, Daz Harris, Johnnie Campbell, Shannon Johnson, Crystal Frazier, Jill Pribyl, and Jun Quemado. He began choreographing in college and started teaching in 2009. He is a full time PE Teacher and formerly taught Boys Hip Hop at the Darien Park District. Tony was been a guest workshop Instructor for Des Plaines Dance Idol. He is the Assistant Choreographer of DLD Professional Dance Company which he has been a member of since 2009. Tony is one of our original Instructors with the opening of DLD Dance Center and this is his 7th year on faculty at DLD. He instructs all levels of Hip Hop and Musical Theatre (Summer Only). He directs our Future Legacies and Beast Mode Dance Companies.

Nika Roman
Early Childhood, Hip Hop, Breakdancing
Nika Roman was raised in Brooklyn, New York and fell in love with Hip Hop at a young age. In High School she met her mentor, B-Boy Ed Mejia who saw potential in her as she developed her craft. Over the next five years under her mentor she participated in Phase One Dance Company and had the opportunity to choreograph several pieces for them. Although she was exposed to a variety of genres of dance, Hip Hop was where her greatest passion remained. She began choreographing in High School for the cheerleading squad and step team. In 2003, Nika had the opportunity to perform with Latina artist La India at the Celebrate Brooklyn summer festival. She is also a member of DLD's Professional Company. and Ascension Performing Arts. She teaches Hip Hop and Breakdancing and directs Emerging Elements, Dance Smash, Breaking News, Diva Dynamics, and Queen Beats Companies. "I never want to be the best. Being the best insinuates a lack of progression. I am surrounded by extraordinary dancers that I look up to and am excited to learn from. I know I'm finally in the right place at the right time- to think, it all started with a VHS of Usher Music Videos."

Christian Sosa
Boys Hip Hop, Boys Jazz & Ballet, Contemporary
Christian Sosa started dancing at the age of 15 during his sophomore year of high school in the styles of Hip Hop and Breakdancing. He later continued his training at Ivangel Dance Studio and Urban Dance Concept broadening his training to various styles such as Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, and Modern. Throughout the years, Christian has also choreographed various pieces that have been performed at World of Dance, Six Flags Great America, and has danced in events such as Freespace, NewMoves, and Prelude Midwest. Christian is also currently the Artistic Director of IDS Dynasty Competitive Team at Ivangel Dance Studio and has recently performed with world renowned artist OnSean Zion as a back-up principal dancer. Christian is also a member of DLD's professional company. He currently instructs Boys Hip Hop, Boys Jazz & Ballet, and Contemporary classes along with directing our Adult Innovation Contemporary Ensemble.

Molly Muriby
Hip Hop, Breakdancing
Molly Muriby began dancing at a young age and training at DLD in 2012 where she trained in Hip Hop and Breakdancing. She was also a member of our Adv. Student Companies and Competitive Company while studying at DLD. She has recieved serval choreography awards both through DLD and at the competitive level. She has been teaching for DLD for the past 3 years. She is also a member of DLD's Professional Dance Company. Molly teaches Beg.-Int. Hip Hop and Breakdancing and directs the Discover Dance Company at DLD.

Victor Lugo
Hip Hop, Boys Hip Hop
Victor Lugo began dancing in high school through freestyle sessions with friends. His love for dance grew and eventually starting focusing on choreographing his senior year of high school for many of their performances. In 2011 he joined Harper College's Pom & Dance Team where his choreography has been performed for the past four years in their Spring showcase. He also performed with the President of Harper College for the Academic Awards for 3 years. Victor is currently a Registered Nurse working on getting his Bachelor's Degree in Nursing through Purdue Calumet University's affiliation with Harper College. Through collaboration with Vicki Summers and Kym Banner, Victor has led and taught in Crystal Lake's Hip-Hop Explosion, a community program where kids get to learn hip-hop choreography on Friday nights. Victor participated in Freespace in 2015 and his choreography was featured Freespace in 2016. Victor is a member of DLD's Professional Dance Company. He instructs all levels of Boys Hip Hop and an Adv. Hip Hop class at DLD along with our Boys Hip Hop I Recital. Class.

Penny Johnston
Early Childhood, Jazz, Tap
Penny Johnston has been dancing since she was 3 years old. Her dance education began at Spotlight Dance Studio in Downers Grove.  Here she received instruction in tap, jazz, musical theater, ballet, acrobatics and clogging.  She especially excelled in tap and clogging. She was very fortunate to be able to complete in national competitions across the United State every year.  She has numerous national championship titles from Showstoppers and Dance America. After her competitive years she continued at Spotlight to teach for many years. She currently instructs the Broadway Ballerinas, Intermediate Jazz and Tap classes at DLD. She also directs the All Jazzed Up Company.

Luis Grant
Hip Hop, Contemporary
Luis Grant is a Chicago native with a burning passion for the art of dance. He started his dance career with the Dance Troop, Xtreme Dance Force, where he learned many styles of dance that helped him to further perfect the craft. Luis extended his dance training when he attended Columbia College Chicago where he picked up techniques in Ballet, Modern Dance, African Contemporary, Hip Hop and Jazz! It was while training at Columbia that Luis joined the dance group Fatally Unique. The competition dance team made it on season 6 of America’s Got Talent, where they made it all the way to the semi-finals. Since then, Luis has been having great success as a freelance dancer. He has been featured in many stage performances with recording artist Shuree Rivera, alongside other artists that include; Israel and Newbreed, Blanca, Matthew West, and NF. Luis also performed and choreographed for the Mega Church Elevation in Charlotte North Carolina. Luis enjoys working and collabing with other artist, but his ultimate passion is sharing his faith through the art of dance. Out of this hope was birth Luis’s vision for his company 3DanceCompany where he hopes to win the hearts of many through the art of dance.

Danielle Wilder
Jazz, Turns & Leaps
Danielle Wilder has been dancing for 22 years and has a B.F.A in Dance Performance and Choreography from Hope College. Danielle directs the Auroris Dance Company at Niles North High School. She is currently a member of Ascension Performing Arts. Some of Danielle's recent work includes dancing and choreographing for musician, Shuree as well as being featured in her music video, One Girl Can Change the World, dancing in a McDonalds Youtube commercial, dancing backup for musician, Aasha Marie, and dancing in the opening set of the Calvin Harris Fantabuloso Tour. She was previously chosen as one of the top 4 finalists for the F.A.M.E. Competition hosted by Lily's Talent Agency. Danielle instructs Adult Jazz and Turns and Leaps at DLD.

Karen Arreola
Marketing Assistant
Karen Arreola, 21 years old, native of Mexico City, Mexico emigrated to the United States at the age of 3. She began her training in dance at the age of 17 and has continued ever since then. In her short time as a dancer Karen has been a member of Ivangel Dance Studio's performance team as well as Urban Dance Concept's competitive and pre-professional companies. She has experience in Jazz and Contemporary. However, her fierce and sassy style comes as a result of her extensive training in Latin dance and Hip Hop. Karen has performed at World of Dance Chicago, Prelude Midwest, Freespace Dance Festival, Nightmare on Chicago Street, Elgin Short Film Festival, Ascension Performing Arts Annual Benefit, Fox Valley Showcase, and has recently been part of OnSean Zion's Latin Cabaret production as a principal dancer. She has also received scholarships from Activate your Artistry workshops for two consecutive years. She is presently a member of Ascension Performing Arts. Karen wishes to never stop gaining new knowledge in and out of dance. She is in her second season as a member of dld's professional company. Karen assists with marketing at DLD.
